Tools - Reconstruction - Volumes

Volume tools are used to add volumes inside of the room boundaries. These volumes are used as projection support for the panorama images. Volumes are usually used for furniture or props.

Cuboid Tool

The cuboid tool is used to create a cuboid volume.

To create a cuboid volume, first hit the icon to activate the cuboid tool.

Then click where the first corner of the base of the cuboid should be.

Then move to where the second corner of the base of the cuboid should be, and click.

Then move to where the third corner of the base of the cuboid should be, and click.

This will create a cuboid volume:

Cone Tool

The cone tool is used to create conical volumes, including cylinders.

To create a cone or a cylinder, first hit the icon to activate the cone tool.

Then, click where one side of the base of the volume should be.

Then move to where the opposite side should be, and click.

This will create a cone/cylinder volume.

Spheroid Tool

Not implemented in this version.

Modifying a Volume

To modify a volume, first select it and drag the control points to the desired location.

You can also change the radius of the entire cone by dragging the circle at the base or change the radius just at the top of the cone by dragging the circle at the top.

Rotating a Volume

To rotate a volume, first select the volume, and then drag the edge to be used as the rotation handle.

Moving a Volume

To move a volume, first select the volume anywhere but control points and edges, and drag the volume to the new location. Moving the volume will automatically constrain it to the selected plane. Cylinders always move along the top or bottom plane.

Deleting a Volume

To delete a volume, select it and press the DELETE or BACKSPACE key.
